Pete Sealey, Director

A widely respected marketing authority and Silicon Valley veteran, Pete brings a wealth of experience, expertise and insight to the measurement challenges addressed by IMMI’s innovative technology.  CEO and founder of the Los Altos Group, Inc. (losaltosgroup.com), a diversified management consulting firm, Pete has consulted to some of the biggest names in business including Sony, Visa, UPS, Hewlett-Packard, Eastman Kodak and General Motors. Currently an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at the Haas School of Business, University of California – Berkeley, Pete also codirects Haas’ Center for Marketing and Technology and sits on the faculty of Stanford’s Graduate School of Business as a Visiting Professor. He serves as a management advisor and board member to numerous Silicon Valley technology firms as well as to MaxWorldwide, the leading independent online advertising sales and offline direct marketing company.  Pete spent the majority of his earlier career at The Coca-Cola Company where he held senior positions in virtually every business sector including soft drinks, wine, and filmed entertainment and was appointed Coca-Cola’s first Global Marketing Director in 1990. In the 1980s Pete served as Executive Vice President and then President, Marketing and Distribution, for Columbia Pictures.  Pete’s education includes degrees from the University of Florida, Yale University and a Ph.D. from the Peter F. Drucker Graduate Management Center at the Claremont Graduate University.

Doug Glen, Director

With over twenty-five years of experience as a media, technology, and entertainment operating executive, followed by years of experience as a venture capitalist, Doug is uniquely qualified to help guide IMMI’s successful growth.  Currently Chief Marketing Officer of Zetera Corporation (zetera.com), developer and licensor of innovative network storage solutions, Doug previously served as Managing Partner of ProVen Private Equity, a U.K.-based family of private equity funds specializing in media and entertainment investments. As Senior Vice President, Business Development and Strategic Planning, for toymaker Mattel from 1994-1999, Doug directed the formation of the company’s girls’ software division which created some of the best-selling entertainment software titles of all time. He also drove the Intel-Mattel joint venture that produced high tech toys under the Intel Play brand. Prior to Mattel, Doug served as Group Vice President for Marketing and Business Development at Sega of America where he oversaw all branding and licensing and extended Sega’s prominent Sonic the Hedgehog property into an animated television show. While at Sega, he also formed Sega Channel, a joint venture with Time-Warner and TCI, which delivered video games over cable television. Prior to Sega, as General Manager of Lucasarts Entertainment, the entertainment software division of George Lucas’ film company, Doug supervised the development and marketing of best-selling computer and video games, extending Lucas properties such as Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Prior to his time at Lucasarts, Doug founded an advertising agency which he sold to D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, where he remained for the next five years, supervising many of the agency’s media and entertainment accounts. Doug’s education includes an undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA and PhD from Somerset University.

Steve Jurvetson, Director

Widely recognized as a forward-thinking and highly successful Silicon Valley VC, Steve currently serves as a Managing Director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ.com), a leading venture capital firm with affiliate offices around the world. As the founding VC investor in Hotmail (MSFT), Interwoven (IWOV), and Kana (KANA) and leader of DFJ’s investments in Tradex and Cyras (acquired by Ariba and Ciena for $8B), Steve has established a stellar track-record of recognizing companies with vast potential and helping guide them to success. Recently honored as "The Valley's Sharpest VC" by Business 2.0, the SF Chronicle and SF Examiner chose Steve as one of "the ten people expected to have the greatest impact on the Bay Area in the early part of the 21st Century." Forbes designated him one of “Tech’s Best Venture Investors”, the VC Journal called him one of the “Ten Most Influential VCs” and Fortune named him as part of their “Brain Trust of Top Ten Minds”.  Prior to his career as a VC, Steve was an R&D Engineer at Hewlett-Packard and worked in product marketing at Apple and NeXT Software. As a Consultant with Bain & Company, Steve developed executive marketing, sales, engineering, and business strategies for a wide range of technology companies.  Steve received his education at Stanford University where he finished his BSEE in 2.5 years, graduated #1 in his class as the Henry Ford Scholar and went on to receive an MS in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from the Stanford Business School, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.

Steve Baloff, Director

With over 19 years of entrepreneurial, operating and venture experience, Steve is well-positioned to steward IMMI’s success.  Currently a General Partner at Advanced Technology Ventures (atvcapital.com), a bi-coastal venture capital firm with more than $1.4 billion in capital under management, Steve focuses on investments in the software, internet and infrastructure markets. During his 10 years at ATV, Steve has led investments in numerous successfully acquired companies.  He founded and served as CEO of Worldview Systems, a venture-backed start-up noted for creating and launching Travelocity, the award-winning travel site, through a joint venture with Sabre Interactive. Steve also held executive positions in sales, marketing and general management with Covalent Systems, a venture-backed computer systems vendor focused on the graphic arts industry. During his tenure, Covalent grew from pre-revenue to over $20M in revenues. His career originated in Booz, Allen & Hamilton’s San Francisco and London offices, where he focused on strategy engagements for a variety of technology companies in the U.S. and Europe. Steve holds an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.A. from Harvard University.

Jeff Krentz, Director

Jeff is Executive Vice President, Corporate Development & Strategy for The Kantar Group, WPP’s insight & consultancy division. He oversees Kantar mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate investments as well as general corporate strategy.

Jeff started his career as a management consultant at Bain & Company and Price Waterhouse advising Fortune 500 companies on corporate strategy.  His professional experience also includes operational and staff roles at a mid-size consumer catalog company. 

Jeff has principal investing experience having raised, managed and invested a $40 million investment pool dedicated to emerging growth companies through the Small Business Administration’s SBIC program.  Prior to joining The WPP, Jeff was a co-founder of Camdens, a venture capital backed company developing online solutions for organizations to manage and automate their corporate rewards and recognition programs. 

Jeff received his BA in Political Science from Duke University and his MBA and Certificate in Public Management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
